She is survived by her daughters Anne Futa, Shizu Futa, Jean Futa (Don and Terry); her grandson Justin Futa (Sarah); sister Eleanor Maruno in Ontario; her sister-in law Miyo Tsuchiya (George) in Vancouver, and her nieces and nephews.   <br>     Irene was a gentle soul who liked to sing, preferred to be happy, and loved babies, kittens, puppies - and all “little ones”. <br>     In her later years, Irene found some dear friends. They were very special to her and she always looked forward to seeing them.  She enjoyed companionship, entertainment, and truly wonderful care at Columbia House. <br>     Thank you to all the staff and volunteers of Columbia House for giving joy and meaning to Irene’s last few years. Lorne was born in Moose Jaw, Sask, on May 26, 1943, to Daniel & Hilda Bueckert.  After a happy childhood, including four years at Rosthern Junior College, he attended medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1967.  Following internship at St Paul’s Hospital he practised medicine in Kindersley Sask for five years, in Invermere B.C. for 28 years, and on Bowen Island in B.C. for eight years.  He was predeceased by his father Daniel in 1994, his mother Hilda in 2001, his niece Danielle in 2001, and his brother Dennis in 2007.  He is survived by his wife Adeline; their son Evan (and his wife Georgia, and their children Julian and Saturna) and daughter Lani (and her husband Stephen Carr); his sister-in-law Joan Bueckert (and her children Frances and Anton); his sister Elaine (and her husband Richard Maj and their children Heidi, Gretchen, Lisa, Jessica and Daniel); and many other family members and friends.  Lorne had a warm and engaging personality, an extraordinary intelligence and a broad range of interests, and exceptional talents in music, photography and the arts.  He loved travel and adventure, especially endurance sports, and took the greatest pleasure in the achievements of his children and grandchildren.  He lived an extraordinary life of dedicated service and good times. Her life went on to include four years in the Air Force where she was an ambulance attendant and a cook.  Sylvia married Logan Atwood and moved to Radium Hot Springs where she ran the first bed & breakfast in the valley at the Upper Ranch. Sylvia worked for many years at Jessie’s Restaurant where she became famous for her fantastic cinnamon buns. Sylvia was a 48 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and very active with the Radium Seniors. Harry’s memory will be cherished by his second wife of twelve years, Erika of Red Deer; daughter, Inge (Ken) Kluk of Calgary, son, Gunther (Debbie) of Lacombe.  Harry also leaves to mourn his passing his 4 grandchildren: Vicky, Laura, Christy and Kurt as well as his 11 great grandchildren: James, Travis, Erica, Max, Nick, Luke, Katie, Angelica, Alexa, Evan and Noah.  He was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Klara and by his parents and siblings in Germany.  Harry was born in Germany where he was trained to be a baker at the age of 14.  This became his lifelong trade.  In May of 1953 Harry came to Canada with his wife, Klara and two young children.  He worked on two farms, and later did landscaping during the day while working in a bakery at night.  Due to Harry’s hard working nature he worked in and owned several of his own bakeries in Saskatchewan, Calgary, Banff, Cochrane and Cranbrook.  A Celebration of Harry’s life will be held in the Chapel of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Bruce MacArthur, Funeral Celebrant, officiating. She was predeceased by her daughter (Carol) and graddaughter (Tamara) in 1972 and her husband (Irwin) in 1985. She is survived by her daughter (Lee Wrathall) and husband (Grant), and grandchildren Kim, Christy and Blair (wife Dana and great grandson Gavin) all from Calgary. She has one son in Calgary (Wayne) and a surviving brother in Kelowna (Basil Foster). She has seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. <br>Joyce was born in Henley on Thames England and served in World War II in the British army, where she met her husband and had her first daughter during wartime. After her husband was wounded and returned to Canada as a War Amputee she took the trip across the ocean with so many other war brides and their children to settle in Calgary until 1968. At that time her husband took early retirement and they  moved to Shuswap Lake until he passed away. Joyce moved to Chase and resided there until 2007 when she moved to Invermere to be near her daughter and family and their second home in Radium. She was very familiar with the area as the family had a cottage on Lake Windermere for ten years, so it was like a homecoming for her. She enjoyed the wonderful friendships she had at Columbia Garden Village until her passing. <br>Thanks is not enough to say to Dr. Mannheimer for his compassion and care, the dedicated nurses at the Invermere Hospital, Shauna Cameron, and the Home Care staff. <br>Joyce will be sadly missed by her daughter Lee, who spent many months with her before her passing and her husband and children who were with her around the clock in that last week of her life. <br>Joyce will be buried in Calgary with her husband and next to her daughter and graddaughter. She continued nursing until 1975. <br>In 1951 she married Arnold Axelson and over the next 12 years they had 9 children.  <br>Teresa was predeceased by her parents, her son Eric; her brother Bill; and son-in-law David Palko. <br>Left to mourn her loss are her husband of 59 years Arnold; daughter-in-law Judy Axelson; daughters Sonja Axelson; Elaine Palko; Sheila (Stuart) Tutty; Denise (Dave) Shkuratoff; Cheryl (Bruce) Roy; son Shane (Sandra); daughters Marilyn Axelson; Ann (Steve) Recsky; 15 grandchildren: Luke (Janal) Hardy; Damon (Veronica), Alyse and Megan Palko; Rhiannon (Cameron) Oliver and Brendan Tutty; Peter, Brenda and Brent Shkuratoff; Matthew and Justin Roy; Michelle and Anders Axelson; Alaina and Bradford Recsky; 4 great grandchildren: Graycen, Benjamen and Tesslin Oliver; Emerson Hardy; six brothers: Emil, Joseph (Jean), Otto ‘Happy’, Paul (Arlene), Lawrence (Joan) and Walter (Jane); numerous nieces and nephews. <br>Teresa was an incredible artist from her sewing talents, to leather work, knitting and crocheting, and her gardening. But her greatest artistic achievements were her artwork and quilting.  <br>In 1988, Teresa designed and made a beautiful hanging quilt to commemorate the Calgary Olympics. Over the years, she had won many awards for her art at the Calgary Stampede.  <br>To celebrate the millennium, Teresa made each of her 15 grandchildren a quilt. This feat took her a little over 18 months to accomplish. <br>Creating one-of-a-kind quilts was a great source of pride for Teresa and she enjoyed her quilting right up until she went into hospital in February 2010.  <br>Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 2 and funeral service at 1 p.m Saturday, July 3 at Holy Name Church, 2223 - 34 Street SW, Calgary.
