Pettis, Daniel Henry James
Passed away on Aug 26th 2010 at Agassiz, BC, at the age of 31 years. He was born in Chilliwack and is survived by his wife Amy Pettis, parents Henry (Jr) and Linda Pettis, his daughter Lizzy Pettis, brother Mark Campbell, sisters Melanie Pettis, Jamielynn Pettis, Valerie Pettis, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his great-grandma Margaret Murphy, grandparents Henry & Christine (Tiny) Pettis, grandparents Jim Fraser & Margaret Murphy, God Dad Henry Murphy, uncles Joey Pettis, William (Buddy) Pettis, Archie Fraser and aunt Darlene Joseph.
Daniel was given the nickname \"Tubby\" at the age of two. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter of the Seabird Island Fire Department for 18 years. He graduated from Agassiz Secondary School in 2000. Daniel loved spending his summers up at the Pettis family fish camp in Yale. He also enjoyed playing baseball and soccer. Daniel had many career paths in Carpentry, cattle farming, planting trees, Rock Picking, Rebar and cooked at the Seabird Island Cafe.
Daniel\'s smile could impact the entire room and in every walk of his life he would make friends and he always had a hug for everyone and always shared how much he cared about you.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 1st 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at 3124 Seabird Island Road. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 2nd 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seabird Island Immaculate Church. Burial to follow at the Seabird Island Cemetery. There will be a meal held at the Seabird Island Band Office Gym after the Burial.

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Emery Bouchard announce his quick passing, on August 20, at 6:12 p.m. at the Fraser Canyon Hospital after his courageous two year battle with cancer.
Emery, was predeceased by his mother Grace in 1969 and will be lovingly missed by his love; Debbie Morgan, parents; Jack and Judy Bouchard, sisters; Debbie Meredieth and Michele (Tim Morgan), brother Greg, nieces Jessica, Karen and Camille, nephew; Adam and great-niece, Gracy.
There will be a Celebration of Emery\'s life at his home 575 Fraser Avenue, in Hope on Saturday, Aug. 28th from 1:00 until 3:00.
God saw you getting tired,

John passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at the age of 90. He was born on July 25, 1920 in Saskatchewan.
John served as a Sergeant in WWII for the Canadian Armed Forces.
He will be missed by his wife, Audrey and all his family and friends.
There will be no service at John\'s request.

It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Howard Franklin Morse, suddenly on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the age of 87.
Predeceased by his sister Marian. Survived by his loving family: wife, LaVonne; son, David (Ruth); daughter, Nancy Schultz; grandchildren, Alisen (Rod), Aaron, Kristin, Ryan (Sheri); great granddaughter, Sarah. Howard was greatly loved by all of his extended family and friends.
Born March 18, 1923 in Madera, California and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He married LaVonne Anderson on August 2, 1944 and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in India. Howard and LaVonne moved from Richmond, CA, USA, to Hope, BC, Canada in 1971 and built their dream home on Silver Creek. Howard was a member in good standing with IBEW Local 302 and 213 for 65 years, and worked for Hope Electric until retirement. He was devoted to his family, friends, neighbours as well as his community. He was a charter member of the Flood, Laidlaw, Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Howard was a dedicated Fire Chief from 1981 - 1989 and remained a member for 37 years. Awarded the Queens Medal for Exemplary Service in 1993. He also served with Hope Crime Prevention Society/Citizens on Patrol.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 21 at 1:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Hope BC. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Gina Lynn Hope was taken from us suddenly on August 9, 2010 at the age of 23 years.
She is survived by her daughter Danika Rae Hope, her mother Kathy and her father Evert Hope as well as her sisters, Jolena (Buck) Hope and Kelly (Dan) Hope.
A Public viewing will be held on Thursday August 19, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Mountainside Funeral Home, 1270 Ryder Street, Hope BC. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Yale First Nation Government Office, 31300A Yate St, Yale BC. Burial will be held at Yale First Nation Cemetery following the service. Lunch will be served at Yale First Nation Government Office following the burial.

Marilyn passed away peacefully Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Hospice in Hope, B.C. Marilyn was born January 4, 1937 in Watrous, Saskatchewan and completed her grade twelve. Marilyn joined Saskatchewan Government Telephones and it was there she met Eldon Stein and they were married January 30, 1958. They had two children, Sandra and Glen. Eldon joined BC Tel in 1966 and they lived in Trail, B.C. In 1974 Eldon was transferred to Boston Bar. Marilyn was employed by Canada Post and eventually became Postmistress for 25 years until her retirement. In 2006 Marilyn moved to Hope, B.C. to be near family. Marilyn was caring, kind and always there to help someone. Marilyn had many hobbies: sewing, ceramics, needlework, crocheting and doing crafts. Marilyn met Ron Leger in 2008 and they resided together until her passing. She was predeceased by her Father and Mother, Cosmos and Hilda Spani, and husband, Eldon Stein.
Marilyn was a loving and caring mother to Sandra Richmond (Paul), son Glen (Yvette), her beloved grandchildren, Kyle and Kraig Jones. She also leaves to mourn, her partner Rob Leger, sister Judy Lambertson (Bryan), her 93 year old Aunt Josephine Moir and several cousins. A Celebration of Marilyn\'s life will be held August 14, 2010 at the Grace Baptist Church, 949 3rd Avenue, Hope, B.C. at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made into Fraser Canyon Hospice Society, 1275 - 7th Avenue, Hope, B.C., V0X 1L4 or any Cancer Society in Marilyn\'s memory.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Hospice workers for their many kindnesses during Marilyn\'s illness.

Minnie Peters will always be remembered as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, teacher and friend. Minnie was predeceased by her father; Johnny Chapman, mother; Matilda \"Tillie\" (Andrew) Borden, husband; Robert Peters Sr., brothers; Francis Chapman, Martin Chapman, Alexander Chapman, and Harold Stromquist, sisters; Gladys Chapman, Margurite Chapman, Evelyn Chapman and Margaret (Stromquist) Reid, sisters-in-law; Jean (Carlson) Stromquist, Juanita Stromquist, Verna Stromquist and Noreen Stromquist. Minnie is survived by daughter; Roberta (Ronald) Peters, sons; John William \"Billy\" Peters, Edward (Maizie) Peters, Robert (Dee) Peters Jr., and Glen (Lorraine) Peters, brothers; Albin, Ivor, Helmer, Helge and Howard Stromquist, sisters; Judy Shellenberg, Constance Vincent and Ray Tsruda, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Minnie was well known throughout the area from Washington to Alberta for her weaving, baskets and native deerskin apparel. She will be missed by all.

Lorraine Gail Ferguson passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband Ernie and her family. She had fought a long hard battle with lung cancer.
Survived by her husband, her two children; Clayton Ferguson and Sandy Donaldson (Jonathan Donaldson), her two grandchildren; Brian and Emily, her mom; Louis Foulds (Walter Clark / Edgar Foulds both deceased), her sisters; Ruth Steele (Bill Steele deceased), Linda Reyda (Ray Reyda), Pamala Foulds (Randy Mortell) and her brother Wayne Clark (Sharon Clark).
She was very active in the community and loved being a part of the planning and action of special events. She had a love of travel and enjoyed exploring this great province of ours whether with her husband or her second family the Pythian sisters. Of all the things she loved they were soon replaced by the greatest things ever: Grandchildren. Brian and Emily brought so much joy to her life and she was their special Gamma.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Boston Bar Community Hall on August 7, 2010 at 1:00 in the afternoon.
The family does request in lieu of flowers donations to the Hope Hospice Society be made in Lorraine\'s name. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at the Fraser Canyon Hospital for the wonderful care and special attention they provided for her.

Norman Arthur Corbett passed into the presence of his Lord on July 21, 2010, at his home in Hope, BC, surrounded by his family and friends. He was predeceased by: his first wife, Aileen; brothers, Irvine, Willie and Roy; and his sister, Margaret.
Norman is survived by his loving family: wife, Louise; son, Jim (Kathaleen); step children, Ron(Rene), Dennis(Shelley) and Ken(Ruby); grand children, Lindsey, Matthew and Jamie; step grand children, Stacey and Dane; great grandchild, Christian; 2 step great grandchildren; brother, Vern; sisters, Lela and Betty.
Norman served in the Canadian Army in WWII rising to the rank of Sergeant. After the war, he logged and saw milled with his 4 brothers. Eventually he started Canyon Cable, a successful logging supply business in Hope. As a carpenter and woodworker he built countless treasures for his friends and family. Norman was a devoted husband, father and grandfather as well as being greatly loved by all of his extended family and friends.
A private family Burial was held at the Mountainview Cemetery on July 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. The Memorial Service took place at the Grace Baptist Church, 949 Third Avenue, Hope, BC on July 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Will Corbett officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Fraser Canyon Hospital for their wonderful care of our beloved Norman.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Joan Thompson of Agassiz, BC who was born in Whitehorse, Yukon Terr. passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the age of 71.
Joan is survived by her loving husband Len, daughters; Laurie (Glenn), Kelly, and Carrie (Darren), and son Cory. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Guenther. Joan was extremely proud of her grandchildren; Tyler, Robert, Lydia, Duncan, and Stephen. She will be sorely missed by her siblings, aunts, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Skawahlook Lodge, Ruby Creek, 58611 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz, BC, on Thursday July 29, 2010. The service starts at 3:00 pm.
