She was raised on the Gregerson farm in Evelyn and attended the one room school there as well. Margaret worked for many years in Telkwa for the Dockerill family and also worked in Tulameen, B.C. Upon returning to the area she worked at a number of different jobs throughout the valley. She really enjoyed travelling to many vacation spots such as Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand and various places in the USA visiting relatives. Margaret liked spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for animals. She resided in Pioneer Place for a number of years and really enjoyed her life there and the friendliness of the people living there. <br>“Margaret, you will be greatly <br>missed as a part of our family.” <br>A Service of Remembrance was held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pioneer Place Activity Centre with Rev. Daphne Moser officiating and Mary Spicer playing the organ. He developed many great friendships across the communities of the central interior, and he embraced Smithers as “home.”  <br>Sindy believed strongly in civic engagement and volunteerism, and served as a member of the Lions Club in Smithers and Surrey for over thirty years. He and his wife moved from Smithers to Surrey in 2001 in order to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Ron was born in Shubenacadi, Nova Scotia. After completing high school and his first year of university in Truro, he headed west to Prince George, B.C. He met and married Marge in 1957. With a young family they settled in Cranbrook for over 22 years, Ron’s CA Practice thrived and he established many long time friends and loyal clients. Ron loved to work outside, dabbling in ranching for a time, ensuring his fences were always meticulously painted and always striving for the nicest lawn. Ron loved to watch all Vancouver Canucks games.  <br>After retiring from his practice in 1986, they moved to Kelowna where Ron owned and operated Okanagan Cedar Products, and then managed Holiday Park in Winfield, B.C. Ron enjoyed travelling with Marge and after spending many winters in Phoenix they travelled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Nova Scotia and Hawaii numerous times. After living in too many places to mention, they settled in Smithers in 2006 to be close to Leanne and their growing granddaughters.  <br>Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marge, of Smithers, B.C., his son Ken Rines, of Cranbrook, B.C., his daughter Shelley Rines (Paul Gibson) of Calgary, AB, and his daughter Leanne Kindler (Tom) of Telkwa, B.C., his grandsons, Derek & Cory Rines, granddaughters, Kayla and Jessie Kindler and great-granddaughter Isabella Kindler, his sisters Dorothy Grant (Wilfred), Barb Parsons (Roland) and brother Graham, all of Nova Scotia.  <br>Ron was a kind and loving husband, awesome dad, fun grandpa and close friend, his wonderful smile and enthusiasm for life will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.  <br>In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Smithers Bulkley Valley Hospice Society. He lived in Smithers until 2001 when he moved to Osoyoos, B.C. <br>Over the years Ted was a carpenter, worked for the CNR and at the Smithers Sawmill. He enjoyed traveling and made trips to Italy and all through Canada and the USA. Ted also loved painting, gardening, fishing, he enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. <br>Prayers were recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, B.C. <br>Interment and committal followed at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. At the age of 6 he moved to Salmon Arm where he attended school and played team sports. <br>Laurence served in the Merchant Marines and the air force during World War II.  He often talked of his travels across the ocean and the character and quality of the people he worked with.  At the end of the war Laurence attended UBC law school and after graduation went to Williams lake to article.  It was 1950 in Williams Lake where he met Irene Wanuk at a church square dance.  Irene said he had everything but money.  They were married in Kimberly in 1950.  An opportunity to start a practice in Smithers came up and while discussing other options Irene said “Choose mountains.”  And they did.  Their first of five sons, Paul was born Dec.7, 1951 in Smithers. <br>Through the years he established many friendships and loyal clients who valued his advice to the end.  He worked very hard to make the civic center arena dream a reality.  He loved going prospecting back in the hills with his old friend J.J. Herman.  He became part owner of the Spatsizi guiding area in the 1970’s and promoted the idea of it becoming a provincial park. <br>In 2000 he fought cancer and survived.  In 2006 he had an accident which took away much of his mobility and nearly his life.  After many years of working on his Tyhee lake property Laurence and Irene moved back to town. <br>Laurence took on life with enthusiasm and kindness.  He truly enjoyed working for and with people.  He placed great value on family and friendships. <br>He is survived by Irene, his wife of 59 years, sons Paul (Lorna), John (Wendy), Mark (Jane), Dan (Julie), Joel.  Grandchildren Lisa, Trevor (Alethia), Marie, Vance, Matthew, Lane, Tess, Leah, Jaime, Lauren, Rhiannon and great grandchild Shaden.  Brothers Sandy, Bud, Doug, John. Sisters Marguerite and Noreen. <br>“We miss you.  Thanks so much for being a great father and husband for so long. Throughout these years she has fulfilled many endeavours. One which was her greatest attribute was following the Lord with her husband. This is what she has leaned on to help her fight the battle of Cancer in the end which took her life. She was a hard worker for her family over the years. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes I watched you, & saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly I couldn’t make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest; God broke my heart to prove to me, He only takes the best. You are deeply missed Cora. She joins her parents Pat and Lucy Namox and her daughter Late Annette Naziel as well as her granddaughter Hope and leaves behind a wonderful family consisting of: <br>Husband – Billy Naziel, Sons – Herb Naziel, Terry Naziel (Cory), Kieth Naziel (Renee), Eli Naziel (Tammy) and grandchildren, Billy, Brandon, Dillon, (+Hope), Jorja, Kendall, Brent and Tara (one on the way). <br>Also, 6 sisters and 6 brothers many nieces and nephews and close friends. <br>By all you will be missed. <br> The Naziel, Namox, Pierre Family <br>We thank all of the caregivers at BVDH, Vancouver Cancer Clinic, Vancouver General Hospital, and the Moricetown Health Station. Leslie (Julie) and Jerri-Anne Miller (Garry), eight great grandchildren Samantha, Danica, Chelesa-Anne, Brendan, Jaxon, Caley, Ryleigh and Avery, sisters Mary Campbell (Al), Ruby Wade (late Les Wade), Eva Buchi (Fred), his best friend in life and death “Dukie,” and his special friend Dolores Krauskopf. <br>He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Danny, Sam and Stevie; sisters Annie and Nelly. <br>As per Nick’s request there will be no formal service, however, there will be a celebration of his life on July 15, 2010 between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Old Experimental Farm (Penninga Home on Polar Road).
