ANDREASEN, Dorothy May (nee Theobald)
Dorothy passed away peacefully Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Delta Hospital. She was born May 28, 1926 in Vancouver.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her husband of 63 years Mark, her daughter Jane (Robert), sons Eric (Klaudia) and Jack (Corinne), 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
She was a lifetime member of the Delta Hospital Auxiliary and served on the board for 9 years. An avid gardener, she was a lifetime member of the Evergreen Garden Club which she belonged to for over 40 years. She volunteered for Lifeline for over 20 years and also volunteered for the Mammography program. She completed a business degree at Douglas College at 50 and worked many years for Tsawwassen Medical Clinic and Instant Lawns. She was a member of the Tsawwassen Tops Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delta Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Dorothy\'s life will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Delta Funeral Home 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC.
The family would like to thank the Delta Hospital staff and volunteers for the care and compassion given to her while she was there.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and great grandmother at age 71. Dorothy passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 2, 2010 in Maple Ridge BC. A celebration of life will be held in her honour at Meadow Gardens, 19671 Meadow Gardens Way, on Saturday April 10, 2010 from 1 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Paws Dog Rescue.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and dear friend. With his beloved wife Sandra at his side, Bob passed away at home on Sunday morning, February 14, 2010. Words cannot describe the loss that has been experienced by all who knew him.
Bob will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Sandra; his first wife Dorothee; children Sheila, Robert, Susan, and Jane; grandchildren Amanda, Jesse, Karley, Jared, Madison, Marina, Liam, Sierra and great-grandson Ayden Brodie; siblings Ronald, Eddy, Dennis / Joe, Carolyn and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob will be greatly missed by his most dearest friends, work associates, those he knew at the yacht club, the golf course, wives and husbands of the family and so many more.
Bob loved life and he knew how to live it. With each one of us he shared his life, love and laughter. His memory will be cherished forever.
A special thanks to Dr. Sharon Duncan, Dr. Al Kallas and the special nurses at Ladner Home Care.

A European gentleman in the finest tradition passed away at Delta Hospital in the early hours of January 5th, 2010. Franz Friedrich Lindner came into this world on October 28, 1919 in Ratibor, Silesia, Germany, the first of three sons born to Anna and Friedrich Lindner. A student at the prestigious Bauhaus school of design, his academic career was cut short by the advent of World War II. Franz sought new beginnings and opportunities in Canada in 1958. A photographer by profession and philosopher by nature, Franz spent his life creating beauty in his art and probing the great questions of “life”. His search for meaning inspired and intrigued family, friends and acquaintances who remember him also for his kindness, his humour and his fascination with the world and all things in it.
Franz adopted the Yin Yang as his personal symbol which reflected his understanding of the duality of our existence – humankind’s ability to reach soaring heights in music, art, literature, science and philanthropy, paralleled by the sorrowful failures of war, destruction and despair. He wore, with great joy, a gift from a friend – a Chinese bracelet of carved wooden beads which symbolized the energy of opposites and the birth of the new. He was mystified by the “seed in the circle” – the promise of hope.
Franz embraced that, wrestled with that and championed that.
A husband, father and Opa, Franz is survived by his wonderful partner Margaret Edelemeir and his children and grandchildren, through whom his spirit and talents live on: son Thomas, daughter-in-law Lona and grandchildren Laurin and Tamina (Munich) and daughter Barbara, son-in-law Brad and granddaughters Hannah and Zoe (Tsawwassen). A celebration of Franz’s extraordinary life will take place in May, 2010.

Joan left us suddenly and unexpectedly due to complications from a stroke. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister & aunt. She is survived and missed by her husband of 60 years, Vern, her daughter Mary Lynn (Brian), son Bruce (Shelley), grandchildren Graeme, Mark, Scott, Eric, Blair & Rachel and cherished great-grandson Tristan as well as her brother William Anstis, sisters Sylvia Johnston (Lyle), Marilyn Woodhouse (Gary) and many nieces & nephews.
Joan and Vern celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May 2009 with a celebratory tea attended by many family and friends. Joan loved that day and we are so thankful that we had that party and so glad that many of you were able to attend and visit with her.
A Celebration of Joan\'s life will take place at Delta Funeral Home 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:30 am with a lunch reception to follow.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Gertrud Heinzemann passed away late on Nov. 17th, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Matthias Heinzemann, as well as her two children, Charlotte and Alexander, who will all miss her dearly. She will always be remembered for her commitment to her family and community, her thoughtfulness, her hospitality, her passion for travelling as well as reading, and her sense of adventure in moving from Germany to Canada. Please join us in remembering a wonderful wife, mother, and friend at a service on Saturday Nov. 28th, 2009 at the Boundary Bay Cemetery, at 2:30 pm, followed by a reception.

Born July 11, 1912 passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009 at the Tsawwassen Kinsmen Retirement centre. Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Joseph Poelzer. Brothers and sister, Butch, Scotty, Richard, Thomas & Francis. Loving husband Bill Ball. Daughter, Lorraine McLelland and son Larry Friesen and grandson Raymond McLelland. Survived by daughter Gay, grand-daughters Linda, Judy, & Nicole. Grand-sons, Neil, David & John. She had many great grand children, great great grandchildren, neices & nephews. Funeral to be held on October 17, 2009 at 11:30am at the Delta Funeral Home. Reception to follow. A special thanks to the many nurses who looked after mom at the Kinsmen Care Centre.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Helen Davidson, who passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on August 31st, 2009 at the age of 48.
On July 1st, 2008 Helen was first diagnosed with skin cancer. After she had finally beat it, Helen and her family were devastated with the news she would start her fight with cervical cancer. Helen’s battle came to an end peacefully early Monday morning with Keith at her bedside.
Helen’s Memorial Service will be held Saturday , September 5th, 2009, 2:00pm at the All Saints Ladner Anglican Church, 4755 Arthur Drive, Ladner, BC.
Helen’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delta Humane Society and or the Delta Hospice Society.

Gabe passed away from lung cancer at home on August 18th, 2009 at the age of 87 with his loving wife of 59 years, June, at his side. He was born on Nov. 2, 1921 in Lucerne, BC and grew up in the West End of Vancouver. Truly a West Coaster he lived most of his life in the Lower Mainland, raising his family in Richmond, before retiring to Tsawwassen. He leaves behind his four children, Ian (Sonya), Jill (Al), Faye (Ted) and Anne (Gary) as well as nine much loved grandchildren and many members of his extended family. Gabe worked many years as a CGA before becoming an entrepreneur in his 50\'s, opening Holliday Funwear sportswear stores with his wife and in-laws, Milton and Myrtle Sorley. After leaving the retail business in 1996, Gabe threw his talents into running the strata council in the Lexington Apartments, where he and June have lived since 1995.
Gabe was a wicked Crib player, a voracious reader and an underrated joke teller but first and foremost he was a family man. Whether it was a campsite in Cultus, a condo in Hawaii or on the road in an RV he was happiest with his family around him. He will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to his physician, Dr. Jim Park for his great care of Gabe. A private celebration of Gabe\'s life will be held in September. Please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Society or the Delta Hospice Building fund, in honor of Gabe.
