Born in Riga, Latvia on February 26, 1920.  Lovingly remembered by his wife Natalia; son Ron of Calgary and sister Ilga. <br>Ivar came to Canada in 1948 and was a resident of Salt Spring Island from 1962 until 1995.  Ivar was one of the original employees of BC Ferries and remained there for 26 years, being Chief Steward on the Gulf Island run.  During the WWII Ivar helped rebuild the German infrastructure and as a result became a master builder, building his home on Salt Spring Island, the big island of Hawaii and projects for family and friends in BC and Alberta. In 1937 Marjorie moved to Castlegar BC area with her family.  She worked very hard helping her parents around the farm with milking cows, cooking and caring for her younger siblings.  In the summer she would travel to the Okanogan to work in the orchards.  In 1965 Marjorie moved to Vancouver Island with her husband Alex.  Marjorie was an avid quilter, belonging to the Heritage Quilters group which she looked forward to attending each week and has many quilted masterpieces to show for it.  She always had and amazing garden and shared her vegetables with family and friends.  Marjorie also enjoyed traveling with Alex and they made many trips together to Cuba.  Predeceased by her parents William (1982) and Mary (2003) her husband Alex (2009) her daughter Faye Cox (1994) grandson Paul Guldemond (1985) and brother Jack Voykin (2004).  Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by daughter Mona (nee Pepin) and Issaac Guldemond, their children, Joeleen (Darian) Achurch, Kylene (Stuart) MacKenzie, Laura (Dereck) Lidstone, Marissa and Paula; son Ronald and Debra Malahoff their children, Jeff, Susan and Jonathon; grandchildren Ivan and Jamie Cox; 6 great grandchildren; an older sister Mabel (Hans) Lehrke, younger brother Alex (Elaine) Voykin, sister in law Verna Voykin and nieces and nephews.
